View Full Version : Character: (3D)
Pgraphics 07-13-2003, 04:15 AM Hi all.
I was modeling this guy for a short animation but lost interest. So I turned it into a simple scene. Not the quality usually found on this forum but I thought I might get some useful feedback from the pros.

Thanks for looking.

I'm no pro ...
I am sure you weren't going for realism (human-like proportions character), but still I feel it would be cooler for him to be more human like:
longer thinner neck, not such wide eyes and face :D
BUT !!! concerning _your_ work ... it's excellent! everything seems great- the textures, light direction, especially the expression
... could you tell us briefly HOW you made it? :applause:

Thanks for the feedback yboris. It's standard subd model done in max 5.1. Rendered standard max scanline. The tents in the background is a photo and the smoke was done with a particle system.
The idea behind the character was a half man half pig species. The idea for the animation was he is a commander of an army ready to go to war at sun up. He was to be giving a pep talk to his troops around the camp fire. It just got to frustrating to get the morph targets right do to the skin flap around his mouth and nose. I'm not technically new to modeling but I'm a newbie to the animation of characters.
