View Full Version : Vehicle: Late 60's "Cobra"

Hi, I'm building one of the first versions of the "Cobra" helicopter. My triangle limit is 3000; so far I'm up to 2360. I still have to build inside the cockpit, landing gear, blades and then tweak it up. I want to finish modeling today, so any comments on the geometry would be much appreciated. Specifically I need comments on line flow, overall likeness to the reference, and geometry optimization.
Thanks in advance!

looks good so far but u can spare a LOT of polys on the bottom of (and some more places.. if yer limit is 300 that should help :). good luck with the rest...oh.. and..... umm.. the cat in yer av.. is it yers.. cuz its cool :D /offtopic

I see what you mean metal. Once I've modeled everything I'll go back a remove unnecessary edges like those ones. Yet, I dont want to leave large polygons, cause they dont shade very well. My limit is 3000 though, so I have a lot to work with.
(BTW, yup, that’s Roxanne, she’s a 17-year-old Siamese cross. She’s very cranky.)

isnt the limit usually in terms of 3-sided poly's? if your at 23xx quads, thats a whole lot more than 3000 tri's :surprised

"My triangle limit is 3000; so far I'm up to 2360" i assume that is meant as triangles..
EDIT: and 17 is quite old! :D
