View Full Version : Multiple Displacement Maps.
RuadhriBrennan 04-15-2009, 03:35 PM Hi, I wish to render a scene with more than one object, probably about 40 in all, each with it's own displacement map (from zbrush) . Could anyone point me in the right direction of a good tutorial on the subject? Thanks

hi
i cant seem to understand the problem you are having, is your scene too heavy, or do you just need pointers on how to use displacement in max, if so check my tutorial at www.eric-ennis.com (http://www.eric-ennis.com).
one thing you should keep in mind, is to only use displacement if you need it, most of the time you should be able to get away with standard bump maps, so unless you have closeups of all 40 objects i think you should use displacement only for the ones that will make a diference, and mostly the ones that are close enough from the camera that you can actually see the detail in your final render.
