So I've done an RTT with AO a million times and this has never happened to me before until now.
I'm projecting a highpoly onto a lowpoly. I turn on mentalRay, set up AO on the Render to Texture, and select a really small resolution like 128 with 16 samples. When I hit render, the progress bar fills up under 'initializing' and then just hangs. It doesn't "lock up" or crash, I can still move a couple windows around, but no matter how long I wait, it will not begin actually rendering. I left it for like an hour and got nothing, and I always have to CTRL-Alt-Del to exit out.
Now I just tested this with a box in a new scene and it works fine. So it's something about my scene in particular. I went back and exported the lowpoly out as an OBJ and imported it back into a new scene and tried the projection with another lowpoly mesh and it still froze up the same way...
Also, I can do a regular mentalray ambient occlusion render without a problem, its only on the Render to Texture function that this happens.
Any ideas?
