CGTalk - Simply want to isolate!!

View Full Version : Simply want to isolate!!

Hey guys,
I've been searching the interweb and looking at the Max help, but can't find anything which explains to a newbie how to isolate selected vertices, so that I can just work with them and not have to worry about the rest of the model.

When I select my verts, pressing Alt-Q or right click > Isolate does nothing...

I have 3DS Max 2009.

Can anyone help?

Isolate works only on Objects, not on Vertices or Polys. But you can select the Vertices you want to work with and then hit 'Hide unselected' in the Command Pannel -> Edit Geometry. (I also have a shortcut in the Quad Menu, but I think I put it there myself...)
