If I have video playing and the video has a black background, how do I fade the black background into another video sequence, but keep the objects in the first sequence still active?

Should be done with a color (black) key.

Select Layer, go to "effects" --> "Keying" --> Color Key


Got the German ProdBundle here, so iŽm not sure about the naming of the menus. AFAIK the AFX-Keyer is not that good. For better results, youŽll need a plugin.

In case You never used Color-Keys:

Choose "black"-color with the color-pipette (color-Chooser ?) from the color-key - Effects-panel.
