Title: A damsel in distress
Name: Alex Pow
Country: Vanuatu
Software: Photoshop

Your average day at the ocean...

Painted with Photoshop&wacom, I've used a simple round brush for the characters and then some textures for the background. No living creatures were harmed in the process, as per usual.
Your critique is appreciated, please tell me what you think.

Wow!

Almost like an alternate version of Aquarius. Nice style.

Thank you!

Here is a small WIP for the whole thing:

My primary concern was the background - does it work? or does it mess the drawing up? i would be glad to hear your opinions.

I like the whale/dolphine creature the most, especially with how the tail fades into the background. the damsel doesn't look as good by comparison to it. perhaps more practice with female figures, since her expression isn't as convincing as the creature's. great effort, and nice style.

Thank you for the comment! Indeed, after I've finished the guy, I've noticed that he looks like another friendly sea cow, which is a shame, since he was supposed to be the evil one!
Probably some horns could save the day :D
