I have put together a list of Refraction Values for handy use. The zip file contains two charts; A chart listed alphabetically and one listed by value. Hope this helps in your CG future!

Look in the transparency channel...this chart will help you simulate real life refraction values...makes your materials look more realistic. Water, precious stones and things like that.
