View Full Version : Odd vertex problem on bound character

Quick question, I hope. I have a character rigged and bound and everything works great. I have a master controller and whenever I rotate it one vertex sinks into the mesh or pulls out. I have tried smooth skin weights, paint weights, component editor but nothing works. ANy suggestion would be great because I am at a loss.

Edit Smooth Skin > Prune Small Weights

Is that vert being manipulated by a cluster or other deformer? Causing a sort of double transform?

Thanks. I tried it but no luck. She has a controller down the hierarchy from it a bit but that does not affect anything near it,. We are just going to try to rebind it and mess with it unless anyone has any other suggestions.

1st try deleting the bind pose. (select joint, go to hypershade and show input output connections and find the bind pose node and delete it)
Then see if you can skin it properly...

Or just redo it,.. which is what I do, and its safer knowing its perfect after.
I duplicate the mesh, bind that mesh to the same joints as the other, and use copy weights to the new mesh... and delete the old crap mesh.
