Check in the area where you choose mentalray as your renderer (assign renderer in the render dialog), is the material editor also set to Mentalray?

I set my renderer to MR and when I select Arch & Design, I'm not getting my materials to show properly, as for my Material Editor... it reads as default.
How do you set the material editor to MR???

Assuming you have max 2008 (I'm pretty sure it's the same for a few versions earlier as well), Hit "Rendering", then "Renderer Setup", a dialog box appears. In the "Common" tab, scroll down till you see the rollout called "Assign Renderer", open it, click on the button that has "..." beside the material Editor option, and choose mr as your renderer for the material editor.

They don't look right in the viewport or don't look right in a render?

I know that, that is not my problem... my problem is that when I hit the "STANDARD" button in my material editor and then choose "ARCH & DESIGN" in the rollout, this is where my problem begins.
I select "glass" or "rubber" material, and the material sphere remains as a glossy grey ball.
I apply the material, and it is just grey. There has to be a way to fix this?!?!
Thanks for the help, but I really need to fix this problem and I cant seem to remedy this issue.

I know that, that is not my problem...
So in that dialog I mentioned, it says "Mentalray" beside the Material Editor tag, and yet you're still not getting a proper mentalray render on your material sphere?

Let's try this one last time. Check the attached image, make sure your settings are set the same way.

Yeah I did that, still no change. You think it might be my material folder?
