Hey guys,
Back again to give this another shot, and I know I'm already late. Luckily I've only had one idea that keeps coming back to me and I've got pretty clear idea how I want him to turn out.
The basic story is, this Dwarven Emperor won a very costly victory against the demon invasion of his capital city. When it seemed all hope was lost the Emperor managed to destroy the demon general and push back the attack. But the city was left in ruins, all but defenseless.
When the demon lord died, he dissolved away completely leaving only his huge Waraxe behind. The Emperor's clerics convinced him that they could cleanse the weapon of it's evil and he could wield it against the demons when they returned.
No Dwarf in the Empire had the strength to carry the colossal weapon. So while his clerics began the cleansing, the Emperor set his best engineers to the task of modifying the royal armor of his ancestors to give him the power to use demon weapon against demon.
Here's a first pass on the overall idea. I've already made changes since this drawing, but this is the gist.
