I am also trying to do a little glow on the crystal (I have done that with the glow shader, but if there is a better way to do so. I will be more than happy to try it). Please take a look and anyhelp will be great.
If there is any more information that you might need, I will have it listed as soon as I can.
Thank you

First off, whats the final scene going to be? If you're doing just crystals, I would go as far as saying to model the actual scratches into your surface so that the refractions of light are more accurate. I also noticed that the shadow of your crystals does not have that transparent crystal or glass feel. Its solid. In order for me personally to try and help you I need to know what you are using the scene for, if its going to be just the crystal, and if not just crystal, how far from the camera will the crystals be, where will they be placed, etc. etc. I don't mean to come across harsh if I am, but a little more info would be helpful for us in order to help you. :)

oh.
I just want to make some crystals over all. It is not really for anything, but for personal knowledge.
So it will just be crystals only. I want to be able to make them and put them in any future environments if I need to.
thank you for the reply and help:)

i just think it's your lighting that's letting it down. if you use area light you'll get far nicer hilights
