View Full Version : Morpher : Removing vertices afterwards
::r|[o:: 07-11-2003, 10:27 AM Hi,
I've set up the morpher modifier for the head with a couple of morphtargets, but now I noticed that there are 3 vertices that need to be removed from the original head.
So I removed those 3 vertices from the original head as well as from all of the morphtargets. But now the morpher doesn't work anymore. Are there ways to solve this problem? I really hope I don't have to make the morphtargets all over again :sad:
All help appreciated.

I donīt think so, havenīt tried it yet.
Do the vertices have to be removed or can they just be deleted?
Then you could use a delete mesh modifier above.

No, they must be removed not deleted. They are isolated verts on the middle of edges, if I delete them the edges will be deleted also.

Note: This may not work!!
It depends on how you have done your morph targets. I always make a copy of the head and then apply a series of edit mesh modifiers for each different morph target. Then with just one edit mesh turn on, do a snapshot and load that in as a morph target.
So with that in mind, it may work by deletign the morph modifer, remove the vertices and reapply the morpher. Then on eahc of the edit mesh morph setups, delete the same vertices and do a new snapshot and re-load those back into the morpher.
Like I said, I haven't tested this and it all depends on you having made and kept the morph targets like I said.

Ok I've tried it and it works this way. Delete the morpher modifier, remove the same vertices from original and all targets. Reapply the morpher and reload all targets again.
I was hoping there was a way of doing this without deleting morpher and reapplying all morphtargets, but hey... It's working again so I'm happy :)
Thanks for your help tonygib :thumbsup:

hay man, cool. Never expected you to get away with not re-loading etc, but at least you didn't have to re-make all the morph targets :banghead:
