Free Calculator for Audio/Video / Compression Storage Requirements from Rorke Data.
Hi All..
Very often, a big problem for editors and graphics artists is calculating the amout of hard drive storage is required for projects..... One has to always keep an eye open on your remaining space to prevent and avoid problems.
To assist in this problem, Rorke Data has made available a quick & easy-to-use " AV Calculator." It is available on-line, or as a Download (choose Flash-5 file or a program for Windows or Mac.)
The way it works is Easy:
You simply enter about variables of data:
1) Your hardware (Apple FCP, Avid, DPS, Fast, M100, Pinncale, Sony, etc.)
2) Your Compression Quality/Format (contingent per your hardware, such as MPEG 4:2:2, DV, DV25, DV50, Uncompressed, etc.
3) Your Project length - in hours and minutes.
Result: You'll get the required stoarge, with recommend overhead (extra space) in GBs.
