I am just learning that even though a lot of models are built with nurbs they are converted to polys before texturing. Is this a common thing with most of you? I have a non-deforming nurbs trim and blend model that I'm about to texture. If I convert to polys should I sew the patches together? Just curious about how this process is usually layed out.

Thanks!

I've always wondered the work flow of texturing NURBS. I don't think I could stand trying to paint each patch individually. I tried a tutorial that used a cylindrical map to texture a patch modeled bust, but I had a real hard time lining up the maps to the object (using that work flow)

I know that since you cant export the UVmap from NURBS you can convert it to polys and export that one (then undo).

I'm real interested in hearing responses.
