View Full Version : nurbs pipeline
Scott212 07-10-2003, 11:10 PM I am just learning that even though a lot of models are built with nurbs they are converted to polys before texturing. Is this a common thing with most of you? I have a non-deforming nurbs trim and blend model that I'm about to texture. If I convert to polys should I sew the patches together? Just curious about how this process is usually layed out.
Thanks!

I've always wondered the work flow of texturing NURBS. I don't think I could stand trying to paint each patch individually. I tried a tutorial that used a cylindrical map to texture a patch modeled bust, but I had a real hard time lining up the maps to the object (using that work flow)
I know that since you cant export the UVmap from NURBS you can convert it to polys and export that one (then undo).
I'm real interested in hearing responses.
which the differance when u changed nurbs to poly or subdive to poly or anything........:wavey:
I hope my english is good:)
