Great creature study. Would probably benefit if set in a watery environment. Right now it looks like some flying, alien, insect thing. It's very creepy. Although, I'm not convinced that the tounge-thing is neccessary since it already has all of the extended grasper-like appendages (kind of like, adding too many features to it's mouth). It's something to always consider when making you're own creature designs. 'Is what you made convincing?' is somehting you normally need to take into account. For the most part, this design is absolutely beautiful (only a few minor details to even mention).

I study a lot of animals and such (I'm any animal lover who does lots of creature designs as well), and your choice of a sea creature is a good one. You should see some of the freaky appearance some of those deep sea fish have (it's like something out a sci-fi movie). Very smooth painting techniques, and great attention to constructive creature anatomy and detail. the bulge around the throat shows consideration to the creature's anatomical design. Little things like that always make a big difference. Besides the need for a watery enviroment to showcase it as a sea creature, nothing else to really add. Great job.
