View Full Version : Just a quick question about bmpmaps and Nrml maps
tempelaars24 04-02-2009, 12:02 AM I was wondering how I would go about plugging a normal map and a bump map into a metalray fast skin shader. Reason being I just can’t get some detail in with my normal map my topology is kind of off. But I can get the detail (go figure) with a bmp map. Hence why I want to plug both in at the same time.
Cheers in advance

Convert your bump map into a normal map (crazybump or Nvidia normal map filter), then in photoshop put it in a layer above your original normal map, turn off the blue channel in blending options, and change the layer type to overlay. Then your bump map details will be embedded into your normal map.
