Another Ice Age

I loved Ice Age, and sequels are all well and good, but wouldn't we all rather see Blue Sky come up with something new?

Well they are working on Robots next. Ice Age 2 would be the film after that (third). Robots won't come up until 2005 I believe, so Ice Age 2 maybe 2006? Unless they fastrack it and produce 2 simultaneously. In any case both Pixar and PDI have sequels, nothing bad about that.

You mean inasmuch as they were both CG, right!?

You need to go study them closer. I really liked the almost cartoony abstraction of Ice Age, especially in the backgrounds. Quite different from the richness of Shrek.

They have this in common - the animation on both Scrat and Donkey kicked ass (so to speak).

Scrat rulez!!! The only thing I hope for is a little bit more fun play. OK that would make it even more like Shrek I admit and I would not like to see that but the comedy with the rhino guys and of course scrat are what made the movie for me.

Ice Age is a fun movie. The best part of it for me, from a CG standpoint, is the water effects. Blue Sky did an awesome job on water! Can't wait to see what 2 will have for eye-candy.:thumbsup:

I feel it is a bad idea to make a sequel just because it can't be much different. I don't like it when a sequel ends up being just an extension of the first movie. Hope it won't be the case, but I' d like something new.

i felt ice age had a style all of it's own, unlike either pixar or dreamworks:shrug:

Ice Age is nothing like Shrek! I loved the style in Ice Age - it's cartoony, but still believable.

CG and realism doesn't really make sense to me. Why use computers if you could use humans and real life objects cheaper and more effectively?
