Hello there:
I am about to rigg a octopus, and dont have a clue wich way its better use several IK chains in each tentacle or Inherit End. Any coment will help. Thanks

I guess it depends on what your octopus is going to do. I once rigged an octopus using flexmotion for some tentacles and inherit root for the ones that wern't going to show much. If you want to be able to animate all tentacles with precision, I would recommend you to use flexmotion.

You might do some different rigs for different scenes. In a 'swimming scene", you might have ik chains with the goals parented to a central null at the end of the tentacles. moving it will give you sway...rotating it will twist them....scaling the null will expand and contract the spread between the ends.

I am trying the way you say, but also using the useful slug tutorial that help to use spline Ik and FK also. Thanks, I ll show some pics

Just musing...another option instead of parenting them to the master null... you could also set expressions so the ik goals would follow a master null, with a different amount of delay for each tentacle....might be an interesting experiment.
