BP3d tuts are a bit thin on the ground.Check around on different C4D sites as it's integrated into the app.The tools are almost identical to PS:lasso,clone,blend styles,etc.

Have you looked at 3Dcoat? It's a cheap 3D sculpting pakage akin to ZB/Mud with some decent projection painting tools and it's pretty cheap.
