She is a young queen destined to take the throne amidst a time of turbulent war. This piece was inspired by one of my much older (and more embarrassing, looking back) pieces, titled "The Queen".

I hoped with this image to bring justice to the character, which I failed at before, also it was sort of a test to see how much I'd improved...

Any critique is most welcome, as always. ^^ Painted with PS CS4 and Wacom bamboo fun tablet.

Amazing! :D The skin is flawless, and the face so convincing.

I think the hair (love the pink!) could use some higher contrast like the face. Also, I understand where the shadows come from, but the necklaces don't seem to wrap around the neck; they look as if laid on a flat plane--kinda floaty.

You wouldn't mind posting some details? :D

I liked seeing your original version very much--while I can see where you have gotten much better at rendering the big shapes (the curve of the face, the collarbones, some fine details) I like to think that the image you had in your head is just catching up with your fingers..even the early version has a soul and it is wonderful to see your skills coming in line with your vision.
