Well, I've been searching help files and tutorials and posts, although this seems like it should probably be a simple solution.
I have a single mesh, and I want to break apart the UVs so that I can have a separate UV space for the Head, Arms, Legs etc., so as to be able to work on separate texture files, whithout having the whole mesh in one map. I was told that I could do this by making a separate shader for each section, and then applying it to just the parts I want it applied to, but the UV's would still be in the same UV space, albeit using different maps. There must be a better way......any help? I'm a recent convert from MAX, where I am used to just applying UV maps as modifiers, as many as I please, with their own space.
That sounded convoluted, I hope I made some sort of sense. Thanks for the help.
