Here's what I plan to make as an opponent to my wolfie:

http://www.geocities.com/adranmor/baldie.txt

What do you guys think?

....I need a break from learning maya... part of me hates Maya cause I've been so loyal and vocal about C4D.

....Either way... this is definitely a C4D project!!!

so this guy is the n00b? :D
He seems a bit short but it looks good. Your illustration skills are good. Now lez see him in 3d :)

Very cool bud

Maybe wider and shorter with a black hair bun would make him look more Oriental Ninja-ish

Neat sketch, just work a little on hs ethnicity :)

Cheers

Cool sketch and concept.
Only thing is that (too me at least) it looks like he is wearing a towel. I though he just came out of the shower:shrug:

Heh...

Yeah... Umm... It's kind of a mix between a arabian sumo ninja something warrior. Probably the result of being the bastard child of a multinational gypsie.

Anyway... I'm taking a shortcut (AKA being lazy) and reusing the wolfie mesh:

http://www.geocities.com/adranmor/baldie2.txt

Clearly the hands and arms need work... but I'm making progress!

Rigging this guy is gonna be EEEVVVIILLLL!

Nothing wrong with using your resources. I like the illustration and the 3d is looking great. I'll watch for more.

(Thanks wilson!!!)

(Image removed cause it suxxorzed!)

I'm really satisfied with the special effects. I think I'm done...actually...

I could just have a 1337 lenseflare for a head.

Halogen
07-11-2003, 10:49 AM

the muscles are really very well done
good proportions

samurai on!

thats a nice one man! too friendly looking? hmm is he a bad guy?

P..:

That Adrian Guy
07-11-2003, 04:44 PM
Mimo: Thanks bro! -I agree about the fingers.

Prayas: he he he... umm... both him and the wolfie are good guys... but they're still sworn enemies of each other.

I'm shooting more for a cartoonesque style obviously....... the fight should be more comical than anything.

We'll see how this goes. I dumped my last project cause I didn't like where it was heading.

i expect some good comic styla animation in the end! hehe

This is going to be really cool when finished.

It looks nothing like that anymore

bad wolfie can't wait till the model is finished?
or was it the modeler who can't wait :)

looking really cool. i need to copy the belly part of this guy for my last model:)

he he he he, thanks all

By the way.. I'm not gonna texture this guy cause procedurals get the job done (mostly)

I wanna use a toon render but I get some pretty ugly results.... Guess, I'm gonna have to shoot for cartoon realism.

JIII
07-15-2003, 10:46 PM
NICE this could end up being one of the best C4D pics I have seen. You are really showing the importance of being able to rig your models.

Man I like where this is going.

Ultra spiffy.

LoL, JIII... thirdeye, squid and Pupii will always be better than me. But it really is a boost to my confidence to hear you say that!

Thanks chief

TAD whts wrong with Rel. 7 in this cause.
It's just modeling.

Maybe missing Mocca with this but for modeling you wont need more than Rel. 7

One thing left. Can i / we see a wire of the body specially breat and belly area?

P..:

JIII
07-16-2003, 08:56 PM
fat man wires please dude.

or maybe even a scene file :-D

mecha
07-20-2003, 08:49 PM
Hey dude...

Great model so far......kind of reminds me of a mix between Samurai Jack and Johnny Bravo!! :buttrock:

Any chance of seeing some wireframes? Im building a character at the moment, but am going through "crease" hell trying to rig and animate/pose him!!!!

Your run and walk animations are uber-cool too!

Wow... this thread is alive again!

Here's a wireframe for ya:

http://wattupyo.tripod.com/wattupyo/baldiewire.txt

Nothing special. I grotesque amount of triangles on the mouth edges. I don't feel this will be a problem with the limited amount of facial animation on these anyway.

As much as I am a nazi about edge loops, it would have taken forever to get these flowing right, and I wouldn't be utilizing them to their full potential anyway.

Still gotta make the environment... and the lighting needs serious work.:p

Oh yeah! Squid said I could post his render of baldie. w00t!

these wires are cool. who of them is the psyko?
I think the fat man looks really weird.

Cool scene you made. Ont little thing. The right hand of the fat man is slightly open. maybe he needs to hold this large hammer a bit better. looks like it's made of a light material but shape tells something else. Can anyone understand this?

P..:

That Adrian Guy

thanks bro!

It's kinda weird that now that I'm this far into this project... I'd rather just start a new one.

Funny how that works, isn't it? Either way... I don't imagine this will be my last cinema 4D project. I should just upload the file and see if anyone wants to do anything with it.

JIII
07-28-2003, 04:42 PM
what you are stopping cinema...?? thats awful. You make great work dude we don't need you to stop :)

I like how it looks first rate. I would love to see that uploaded, I really like that wire.

That Adrian Guy
07-28-2003, 06:24 PM
Well... I'm not really going to stop using c4d.... I'm just gonna try expanding my horizons a bit, and giving maya a test drive.

Thanks for the encouraging response though. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to make a little 30 second fight scene. I'll see how many punches I can fit into that kind of time frame... maybe even have baldie do an "E Honda" super fast punch move.

I would prefer it to be more comedic than "bloody" if you catch my drift.

That Adrian Guy
07-28-2003, 10:32 PM
Any ideas for a backdrop/scene/environment, would be appreciated.

.....Or for that matter... any kind of crit/fix.

(Not to nag)

CosmicBear
07-29-2003, 12:29 AM
i already told you that i think your design rocks!

with the picture above i can't stop thinking of 'Tekken' or some other beat'em-up-game.

'round one.
get reeeeeeeady to fight'

the only crit i have is that i think, the fingers of baldie are a bit too long. they work fine for wolfie as he's a wolf and all but i think, they look kind of weird on a human.

my 2 cent...

JIII

I want matrix style fighting it would be hard as hell to animate the fat on the man in a flying enviornment.

but a matrix fight with those two would kick ass.

Sorry about the motion blur...!

Once again... any advice would be helpful...

JIII... Matrix? Yeah.... right! :D

CosmicBear.... Good call! I'm hoping for a Street Fighter-esque fight.

I'm thinking of Fight Club, or one of those cheezy pay-per-view cage matches. Looking great, btw! I love the pic of the wolf on tubby's back.

Know of any way that I can "blur" that texture crease in the sky?

You could make the tex seamless in PS or some other paint program. It would only have to be seamless on the left/right sides.

That Adrian Guy
07-31-2003, 12:33 AM
Duh! I could use photoshop!!!

I was gonna try to "squid it" by using all SLA's.

Maybe I should add cartoony clouds.

kiwi
07-31-2003, 05:47 AM
Great work bud

Sky - try putting your map on a sphere instead of a sky object,or 2 use a bg object and chuck your sky pic on that,3 try the sky shader plugin, its not that bad with some tweaking. As for making a sky map tile thats pretty damn tricky to do because the shades of blue shift so minutely that you really have to be extroidinarily careful doing it,good instance would be trying to patch up a gradient by painting out areas :) Then there is the clouds when they look tiled and repeat it does not look good at all.

Ever considered using Thomas Kunerts SkyShader plug-in?

http://www.plugincafe.com/download_browse.asp?type=PLUGIN&version=8000

Itīs pretty cool.
