Howdy,

I started this new thread so that the subject name makes more sense. Anyway here is an image of the progress on my cowboy (gunslinger) character model:

Looks pretty jim dandy.. the wrinkles in the cloth are very symetrical though

Excellent boots, hat and face!

My crit:

More details in the clothes!

Personal opinion:

This seems very standard... very... It doesn't have much character....

How to fix that? Well.. that's up to you!

Great modeling Dan! Can't wait to see him textured and drawin' down (if that's how you say it :).

Great work

Cant put my finger on it but he does not look quite American cowboy,or I should say stereotype cowboy ie movies etc .Might be his face looks to young and not rugged enough maybe :hmm:...not sure what it is..

Looking good. Nothing to add that hasn't already been mentioned.

Howdy,

Thanks for the comments. Of course, there is still a lot of work yet to do on it. Most of the model is still in a Symmetry object (except for the hat and gun belt) and the polygon count of the cage is still quite low. Once I start rigging it up, I may end up altering the mesh. I'm not sure exactly how it will react to the deformations.

Adios,
Cactus Dan

That is very impressive stuff to be sure. There is something that is not quite right about the proportions, however. The head seems to be a bit small. The barrel chest and wide hips seem right, but the head and neck seem a little off. In particular the distance between the throat and sternum seems exagerated compared to the distance between the base of the throat and the chin.

Also the vest needs buttons and he might benefit from some 19th century facial hair, unless you have another look in mind.

Great work, thanks for sharing.
