Is there a way to change the background Render color without making a sphere or geometry. And I have read the GI frequently asked questions but did not see anything on Maya 5. Are there any scripts for Maya 5 and GI.

go to your camera viewport that your rendering with.

Go to the top of that View>Camera Attribute Editor....
Then go to the tab that says..."Environment"
Change the color there.

Cool thanks, should have thought of that but get a little overwhelmed by all the menus in Maya. thanks.
