This animation was done using an audio clip from an old 11 second club competition (http://www.11secondclub.com/competitions/oct07/). I've always been interested by the clip but never got around to entering the competition. However, I thought that shouldn't stop me from trying some more serious animation and hopefully make something that does the original performance some sort of justice.

Hope you like it.

Hey, first I must ask, what is that sound clip from? It's driving me crazy! Tom Hanks right?

Anyways, the animation is good, but the beat is too steady. His body feels floaty. But overall it's well done, so congrats on completing it!

**edit**

Looked at some other animations on your site, and the shot Elephant with the same character is brilliant!

Hey Brad,

Great work man, it's a really nice piece and I think you made some good acting choices.

I've some notes on the animation if you're going to be continuing working on it, but I don't want to spam your thread! Hope all is well.

Cheers!

Hey Luke, thanks for the comments. I'd like to sign off on the piece as soon as possible but I'm always happy to receive advice. Fresh eyes are always a good thing.

Michael: Thanks for the "elephant" piece compliments and the clip is by Jeff Bridges from The Fisher King.

Hi Brad,

I like the piece a lot but I personally think that the overall performance could be pushed a bit more so that the character delivers the lines with more enthusiasm.

Incidentally I was checking out your other animations too and the "elephant" one is indeed brilliant. I remember finding your site a while ago and you had a great clip where two characters talk about identifying the sound of a blender. It was awesome, where did it go?

Good luck with your current piece.

Thanks for your comments guys. It's always good to get a fresh perspective.

I've beefed up the performance a bit, tightened up the floaty motion in the first part especially and did some overall tightening and strengthening. I didn't want to push it too far though as I didn't want that standard theatrical type of animated performance you see a lot nowadays. It's often more appealing but I'm trying to move toward something a bit more real and less "animated"... if you know what I mean.

Anyway, here it is.
