Yo, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a case that can fit a nice cpu cooler like a Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 and a long graphics card like a Quadro 1700. I was looking at the Antec Titan 650 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129027&Tpk=antec%20titan650) which is a full atx server chassis. I'm sure it would work, but just wondering what other people are using.

Also, I was wondering what monitor would be good for 3D/Graphics work. Right now I am looking at an Acer 23" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009163). Thanks.

hi

I am using the titan in my 1.66 years old dual opteron computer. Its an ok case. not bad for temps and noise as long as you regularly clean out the filters. There were no filters built in on this when i got it but i just made some in 3 minutes by streching some pantyhose. The door has been broken off since like day 3 (heh) and the start and reset buttons + usb connections are not as durable or Quality bits like you might want.

I got this because it came with the right psu for the dual board and it looked decent. Overall this is what its given me. Nothing special but decent performance. Being a fineshmecker i probably will not buy this cas again for my next computer but will get something along the lines of a more expensive lian li or silverstone.

An Antec 1200, or P190(comes with 1200W PSU, so it might be worth seeing if you can't find a plain vanilla one on ebay) would be good choices. Somewhat cheaper would be the Antec 900II. I have a Lian Li PC-A7110B, which looks great and is pretty huge, but expensive(£180).
The Lian Li and the Antec 1200 are solid and well built, but I can't vouch for the 900II or the P190, although the old P180 was a solid case so the P190 at least should be good.

Look into the Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 (here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119138)). It looks several times better in person. The door is as solid as a door can be. There is enough room (and is drilled for) an E-ATX motherboard if you wanted to run a dual-socket workstation board. The HDDs are neatly tucked away, and cable management is well thought out.

It doesn't come with a power supply, but most power supplies included with cases are horrible anyway. I'd go with a Corsair or Coolermaster powersupply based on your power needs.

The 'S' version is worth looking at as well, it's a bit more expensive, but looks better and is of a somewhat higher build. I'd also add Seasonic or Emermax to the list of PSU's.

Hey everyone, thanks for the input. My only concern with a case really is the dust. With the Antec 1200 it looks like way too much dust could get in. Same with the Cosmos S, but the regular Cosmos looks ok. What about rackmounts? Has anyone gone that route?

A rackmount tends to be pretty noisy so I can't say I've ever felt the attraction. I just got hold of some dust filters, which can be real cheap, such as the pantyhose used by the guy above or the aluminium insect mesh you get on you front door in dusty, dry areas of the world.

I have a Coolermaster Centurion 5 that does a good job keeping dust out. The entire front of the case is perforated metal with foam filters. The dust collects on the front and can be wiped or blown off. It fits a Xigmatek S1283 CPU cooler and they don't get much bigger than that.
