I'm working on a scene where the main focus is a window, wall, plants, etc. There a lace curtain in the window which is an extruded line which is opacity mapped with my lace texture. I want to put a nude figure behind the lace, and have her shadowed with the lace pattern. I'm using basically a single Vray light as sunlight. But instead of a nice lacey shadow, when I tested it, she's covered with a solid shadow. Does Vray have a problem with shadows and opacity mapping? Sure, I can solve the problem by throwing in a projector mapped spotlight and excluding everything but her, but it would be hard to match the illumination and shadows of the Vray light, and if possible, I'd rather do it with just the Vray light. Is there something I'm missing? Any suggestions? The woman isn't the main object of the scene, and she won't be seen that clearly. Just an impression, really, but I want the impression to be right.
Another question. Is sunrise light colored a different shae than sunset light? How is it different?
