View Full Version : Particle display in viewport

Hi

Does anyone know why my viewport doesn't display all particles, even if I have the visible spinner set to 100%?

I'm sure it's something simple, but it's bugging the heck out of me.

Thanks!

Have you reached the system limit? I believe default is 100000 particles, if you have more than that particles will not be displayed until some die.

I only have 100 particles set up in the flow, but the viewport displays 50. I know this because when I use Bobo's BakePFlowToObj script, it only places 50 instances.

Thanks for your help though

What does your flow count say? Also are they all in the same event? sometimes particles get hidden in layers :S

I haven't used that script in a while but I doubt it is the issue (I maybe wrong but Bobo's scripts are really pretty solid and I haven't heard of this issue before)

Odd, in addition to what Jono said, create a new empty flow on the same layer as the rest, settings the same as the original, cut the original wire and delete node, rewire the new node to the existing flow.

The default (rather out there) for Viewport % is 50. Have you changed it to 100 in the Emitter's rollout? This is NOT the Display Operator's visibility %, but an actual "Quantity Multiplier" which makes the system process less particles than when rendering, not just display less. The default for rendering is 100%.

@_@ i just assumed he checked that by "even if I have the visible spinner set to 100%?"
