I decided to go with a different perspective to increas the size of the monster. I am now in the sketch phase and depending on how the values go I may try to finish this in color at the end :D. The blue areas are light sources I forgot to turn off the layer :/

Update: Added arms trying to follow what I am learning about muscle and bone structure. I tilted the head a little bit to add some action and help the pose.

I think it was a good idea to change the perspective. Much more interesting and as you wanted, a more intimidating monster. I would try to fit in the the whole knight/adventurer though instead of cutting him in half.

Looking forward to see more of this :)

Johan

Thanks for the reply :D about the figure. I wanted the focus to be on the monster thats why I decided to cut him in half. I was having some trouble dealing with a tilted (camera) I didnt exactly know how to deal with the horizon line when I did this thats another reason. I may decide to extend the canvas a bit to at least show the figures legs as if i'm changing the lense on a camera i'll see where it goes.

Following some advice I changed how the light is acting there is now a crack in the ceiling which the creature is covering with his hand. I mainly want to know, is the light effect through the fingers too bright how I have it now?

Edit* I worked on the creatures face a little bit.

Update decided to put the Human figure in water waste hi. I also thought rotating the horizon- would look better at this point adding to the action. So the black you see in the bottom right hand corner will eventually be water.http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww58/bouke285/creaturevalue5.jpg
