Title: Disney Halloween Art 08
Name: Jose Pardo
Country: USA
Software: Photoshop

Hello all,

I really hope everyone is doing well. Yesterday, the Department that I worked for at Disney was cut by about half. I was one of those let go. Since I am no longer there I can start sharing some of the work that I did for the company with all of you. This piece was drawn by Cody Reynolds and colored by me. It was the main piece of art for last year's Halloween merchandise.

I have reorganized my site and added a bunch of art that I worked on while at Disney, swing by and take a look if you have time. I'm off to try and find some work.

Excellent illustration. The quality you would normally expect from Disney.
Sorry to hear about your job loss, and I hope you won't have too much trouble finding another position.
Good luck!

Sorry about your job loss! The economy has hit Disney? Wow. But all the best in future work, and gathering from this piece here, looks like more work is around the corner for you, eh?

This is just a fun, fun piece. Great composition and colors, too!

very nice. looks like something Disney would come up for a character collaboration for a holiday themed event. great color scheme, especially the orange and purples (purple is the tricky color, but you managed it well). great job.

What type of brush and techniques do you use? Cause I've always wondered how to color the Disney way.

It's a awesome style and you got some great stuff.

Thanks Derek,
For my Disney stuff first I put down the solid color areas in separate layers and lock the transparency for each layer. For the shading I only use a standard soft round brush set to 100% flow and between 10-20% opacity, that gives me a nice gradual build up of color. But that's just my way, other artists use what is comfortable for them.

Sweet work!
Its been awhile since I have been on CGtalk - I hope you have found some other work - with your skills, I would think you would be well positioned.
Keep up the good work
