TAKE THAT FUZZY ANIMALS!!
from anime news network:
Japan's Studio Anima publicized its computer-animated adaptation of Motofumi Kobayashi (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=27392)'s Cat Shit One manga at Tokyo International Anime Fair this week. ADV Manga (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=1634) released three volumes of the original Cat Shit One manga under the title Apocalypse Meow (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=2640) in North America. The manga follows three American soldiers — Bota, Perky and Rats — during the Vietnam War. The trio just happen to be cute animals in the Cat Shit One recon group. The 12-episode anime series of "real and fierce combat by cute and fluffy animals" updates the manga's premise by making the three soldiers part of a modern private military company. In the first episode, the three attempt to rescue hostages, but end up surrounded by guerrillas demanding the withdrawal of United States Armed Forces in the area. (The original manga had an updated manga sequel with a similar premise called Cat Shit One '80 (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=10577).)
the project is apparently still in planning, but thats a pretty kickass trailer

I double that WTF!?!? That was awesome. Reminded me a little of metal gear but with furry animals.
The amazing thing to me was how accurate the firing positions were, especially when the rabbit ran out of ammo in the M16 and had to go to side arm. Anyone that knows how to handle a weapon correctly would pick up on that immediately. Great job there!!! Love the concept, love that action....I would watch it in a heartbeat.

fun idea...no cats in the show though from what we've seen so far.

What the hell is this?! It looks so badass yet the animals are so cute, it almost like Conker's Bad Fur Day coupled with MGS4 and COD4... However, I so wish to watch this anime, the graphics are über good and the action seems to be great! I am hyped.

apparently the unit name is cat shit one
the manga story took place in vietnam, this is a continuation where "cat shit one" is now doing work for a private security company.

Leave it to the Japanese to animate talking animals in a way never seen before.I was seriously thinking
this cutie animal stuff had hit a brick wall here in the U.S.( even for kids).
Thanks guys.Think I'll go check out the manga while I wait for this to come out in December.

What a great contrast, cute furry animals in such a violent show. I actually felt various emotions seeing that trailer...
It looked awesome!

Some of the Japanese are bat shit insane, and always in a good way! I think I'd actually pay someone to work on this.

"WTF" is not epic enough to describe this...We're going to need a new acronym for this show. Looks awesome!

Yep, just when things get stale, we can always count on the Japanese to get crazy funky on us! This looks very promising, but we'll have to see if it's got enough substance or it's just gimmicky premise.

Wow... wtf indeed. Where can I preorder?
Reminds me a bit of Watership Down and Plague Dogs actually; that talking animals are capable of some pretty serious drama if giving a chance.

Oh. My. God...

Yeah japanese are good at non sens and violent stuff... ask them to do an intelligent and educative cartoon and it will be another story. Most kids cartoon here are good vs evil, with the good punching the bad in the face at the end.
Sad because this society is incredibly sophisticated in other aspects.

i like to consider catshit one to be a great commentary on the state of american animation. most american studios succumb to this "talking fuzzy animals" formula and rarely step outside the family genre. catshit one readily slaps that formula in the face.
even so, using totoro as your avatar how can you ignore ghibli? laputa contains great examples of complex storytelling, totoro doesn't even have a villain...
doraemon doesn't punch bad guys in the face...
compare the cartoons of japan to the cartoons of america, japan comes out on top with the most original and fun to watch stories, if you're a little kid or an adult theres always something for you.

Agreed. There are some really interesting storytelling in anime. Miyazaki is always a great place to start, and from there you can look for many others. In fact, I would say there are just as many anime storylines not following the typical good vs evil cliché.

american cartoons- "bwahaha i'm evil and i want to conquer the world...because...I AM EVIL! mwahaha"
japanese "what am i fighting for? What consequences will my actions bring upon the world? What is the meaning of life?"
man, i love japanese anime. even when kid, i couldnt bare to watch most american ones(some good exceptions tho)
violence in japanese animation is a lot more justified than in american ones. and stories are great to follow.
