View Full Version : script_modeling: Helix along path
JonStoll 07-09-2003, 01:34 AM Ok I am looking for a script or convinient way to make a helix go along a path. I am trying to model threads on a boot and on a jacket and think there has got to be a better way to model it so if any of you guys\girls know of a cool script\plug that I can use for free I would appreciat it a lot.

Create a spring primitive. Make your path using a spline. Add a path deform modifier to the spring. Select your spline as the path.
Tweak until cool.
Should do the trick.

3DZealot, Thanks man I have never used that spring thing before but I tried it and it works great. You are the master!!! ( I can't believe I have never used that before) I thought it was only for reactor or something.
