View Full Version : Motion blur and Ei_Layers Shader

As I understand it, all the passes Ei_Layers generates are non-motion blurred except the "Motion Blur" one. This layer, in Photoshop, seems extra-noisy compared to the usual IMAGE output, by the way.

I'd like to ask how one deals with motion blur when using numbered PSDs output. Can one use the motion blur layer to effect any other layer somehow? Or is it there just as a motion blurred merged pass reference, unusable any other way?

RPF Saver is able to store motion vector information. I seem to remember Combustion and a few other apps being able to interpret it as motion blurring data to apply as a filter. Is there anything similar for After Effects?

this is supposed to be fixed for V8 along with depth of field and glow issues when using the layers shader...

That's great to hear :)

Hi Juanxer,

I highly recommend using RealSmart motion blur....
I'm not sure what changes have been made here in V8, but the MB issue is a known one, and exporting vectors is the only way to go. Currently you can use the UV information in the RPF files to achieve a basic effect, but generally, I just use the basic RSMB (which doesn't require vector information, and simply tracks the footage to apply a blur).
