Hey guys,
I have a simple question, is there anyway to sey keyframes in the timeline itself instead of using the dope sheet that appears in the time line. All other programs offer this and I find it kind of annoying to have to flip back and forth between the two because I prefer the timeline for understanding where exactly I am in time, where as the dope sheet is of course great for seeing where I have placed my extremes. Thanks in advance for any help someone may have.

I'm not sure if i understand your question but, can't you just move ahead in the timeline and click the "key" button to the right of it?

I know how to set keys, I just want the key points that I set to be shown in the standard timeline. Is there know way to do this? Am I just missing something?

u can display the dopesheet on the timeline or use dopesheet in the animator view.

In this way u get key on timeline.

right now it's either timeline or dopesheet.
you aren't missing anything, there isn't (at the moment ;) ) a form of keyframes visual feedback in the indexed timeline.
only in the clean dopesheet one.

yeah dopesheet is good. i barely use the normal timeline . dopesheet gives you more control . you can drag keys between frames, copy/ paste keys too!. :)

right now it's either timeline or dopesheet.

Thanks, glad I wasn't just overlooking something obvious.
