Ok I am kind of past newbee stage (only slightly :-)

Anyway I am ok at nurbs modelling now. I never touched poly. I need to learn texturing in more depth.

My question is- I am using Maya 4.5 (moving to 5 soon) is there any of these DVD's that is kind of redundant? I mean for example the rendering ones are they still a good buy?
Considering built in Mental ray for Maya5? I mean will I be wasting my time and money on something which can be done easily on Maya 5?

Anyway here is the list of DVD's I am thinking of getting -

Polygon Modeling, I: Basics
Polygon Modeling, II: Subdivision Surfaces
Texture Mapping, I: Materials
Texture Mapping, II: Textures
Texture Mapping, III: Projections
Texture Mapping, IV: Polygon UV Layout
Texture Mapping, V: Advanced UV Layout
Rendering, II: Shadows
Rendering, III: Light Effects
Rendering, IV: Light Fog

Hey PixelVampire,

I havn't seen any of the rendering ones, so I wont comment on them, but the others are definitely worth buying. I've found that the majority of gnomon videos are easy to understand and give you a good foundation to then go on to more advanced things.

If you are a beginner and have little experience in any of those fields, then I would say definitely get them.

I just actually deleted my whole post which I just wrote because I am going to keep quite on the ones I dont care for

Instead I am going to say that the Dynamic ones I have seen are superb, simply awesome. Actually anyone HOSTED BY ALEX are great ;) ;)

I forgot, they also used to have a entire texturing coarse for around $600 on the site, you might want to take a look at that instead of the lectures

The dvd's/ videos are great. I like them because he doesnt just go over certain things all fast, he explains everything in a systematic fashion. Ive seen the ones on patch modeling and constraints and they rocked!

they are all great. I'm selling the intro bundle, I'd like to sell it, I started to buy them piece meal, then got a deal on all 38, so I got em.

After I saw a few of my first ones, I had to go ahead a get them all.
