Hi all this is the first time I have tried to enter DW... It looks like fun so I thought I would give it a go! Hopefully I will have enough time to complete it!? I have just been doing some rough sketch's at the moment... still need to figure her out before I can start the modeling!?

Hey Kavi, Sam here, nice to see another Jagexer in the challenge! I really like the asymetrical feel of number 3's armor, and I've always been a fan of long elegant horns like you have in number 5. Might want to consider the kind of emotional feel the horns give.. downward facing horns give her a slightly more downtrodden beastly look, where as the long upright horns are more regal. Maybe have some of the horns on her outfit mirroring her own horns (so if you go withthe downward curving horns, have those kind of shapes in the armor).

Looking very nice thus far though, looking forward to seeing the model take shape.

Hiya Sam, thanks for the feedback... I was playing around in photoshop sketching out the armour... I didn't get very far but I thought I would post it up anyway?

Hey Kavi,

Liking the designs so far!

Coupla thoughts - she's not giving off much of a 'regal' / demonic royalty feel, to me anyway!? Think she could look more aggressive and empowered, maybe? (if you're stuck for ideas, just check out Z's facebook ;) )

Other than that, know you've got the skills so sex up the armour?

then again, i'm working on a big ball of goo, eyeballs and teeth, so feel free to ignore me!

Catch you tomorrow,

LF

Oi oi kavi,

Coupla crits here bud, firstly it would do you good to look up armour on the net and see how it works/fits together in order to create a convincing and stylistically you might get some ideas as well :)

Secondly, id go horns up or both together! have a play around with the horns, how they would be grown and how they'd merge with the head. Look at some rams skulls etc and you'll notice that they are part of the skull and not stuck to the side.

Hope this helps mate, otherwise she shows alot of potential. Keep it up bud.

Stu.

hey k man, liking the latest horns! and wing / arm shared shoulders! think you could really push on without armour and have spikes and bone instead with some really nice skin textures instead...?

any thoughts on weapons? some kind of spiked whips might be cool. thinking witchblade - will bring some comics into work tomorrow!

I have gone away from the armour idea... I was thinking that her armour could be something like some sort of web clothing that is part of her?! Still got lots of playing around to see where it takes me?

Some more detailing... I think it could still do with a little more around the legs and I also need to do some behind the arms...

ok, first off good concept, but you need to follow the concept!! For one the legs look big and like sticks, second the face looks awkward the way it connects with the neck and it looks a tad bit flat. The arm musculature is off in the transition to the chest, as well as the anatomy of the stomach. You should look up female muscle structure as reference. Keep sculpting and keep pushing it! like what was told to me "modeling and sculpting is like drawing..the more you do it the better you get" Good luck and I look forward to seeing you finish it! Times ticking.

Great work man! You've done some great details! I must agree with Ghostesper about the proportions of the legs and the way the neck is connected to her head I think it looks a little bit rigid for the moment but aver all is going great so keep up!!

Ghostesper and Silkcats: Thanks for the crits dudes! I totally understand what your saying about following the concept but this design has gone through so many stages in my sketch book that I totally forgot to post up the one that I was going for? so I will post it up now!? I hear what you are saying about the neck being rigid... i will try to soften it up and get it to look more like muscle... for some reason I was going for something a bit alien and out of the ordinary but it ended up looking more like rigid bone!? I want the whole thing to look believable but not something that we are totally familiar with... I don't really want the muscle structure to be exactly the same to humans but to just have similarity to them... maybe in that sense I should push it further?! Its a bank holiday weekend... so I should hopefully find the time to do so...
