This is a digital matte painting for the independent movie Nydenion.

To get more painting practice I tried to stay away from textures and brush voodoo as much as I could. This was pretty hard as it expanded the time for painting very, but at the same time it gave me a lot of practice and felt like time travelling to the good old glass shot matte painting days.

The original file is 5000x2529 at 300dpi, so there's a lot of detail in it, which made it not easier for me as I have fallen in love with this whole greeble stuff ;-)

We will add some air traffic and people on the plattforms, I will post a note when we have a finished comp.

Nice done, like the atmosphere, i think need little bit more details and texture in first plane

cool sky rendering and nice ambient light from the windows. also like the shape of the builders too. nice job.

Thank you for the kind comments and your input. I had some requests for making of steps. Here are tow closeups where you might see the brush strokes. I will see if I can make some kind of "making of" soon.
