Hi peeps... I have a couple of technical questions about some components of a custom PC I hope to have built soon.
First off is to do with the RAM.
I'm going for the new Intel Core i7 processor which takes DDR3 RAM.
I however am a total nooby when it comes to the technical ins and outs of computer specs and equipment.

I've been looking on this website and plan to purchase all the equipment from it, and this is the link to thier DDR3 RAM section http://www.ebuyer.com/search?store=2&cat=3&subcat=2677
So I would just like to know from whats on that website, what you believe is the best bang for your buck ^^. I'd like to get a 3 sets of 2 gig (6 gig) ram (then if needs be I may purchase another set for 12 gigs at a later date).

My other question is considering I'm purchasing a Core i7... What do you believe would be a decent Motherboard to get with that.

My friend suggested this would be a decent enough one for the RAM I'm planning on having http://www.ebuyer.com/product/156173
So if you could take a look at that perhaps and say weather you think that's a good one to purchase or not... If not maybe you guys could provide a better alternative?
All I know is that it has to have 1366 in the name and be an ATX Mother Board.

Oh and finally... I have been told that for the case, I will need a 'Full Tower ATX' case. Is that true?
If so what do you think of this one

Thanks for taking the time to read this. :)

More is generally better, especially for the quantity you're talking about. Speed doesn't matter much. Real world benchmarks show very little performance difference between mid range and high end (speed) ram. You can shave off spending by purchasing midrange ram and be fine. Don't look at benchmarks like Sandra, which are idealized non-real world throughput tests. You won't see the huge differences Sandra shows in real world conditions.
I tend toward Corsair and always have. Other people might tell you differently, but Corsair, OCZ, Crucial, Kingston are all long lasting name brands.

*I should note that higher speed ram is often used for overclocking and is better for that purpose, giving a wider overclock than slower stuff, but I'm unfamiliar with the possibilities of i7 overclocks.

No need for the full ATX tower case, a mid tower case would work fine too. Most of the full tower cases are for SSI EEB motherboards (extended ATX) which most of the Core i7 boards are just stand ATX size boards. Cheers!
