Hi everyone. It's my first time entering DW. Here are my concept designs for my entry, I think I'm sticking with the second one.

I chose the Demon Princess as my race, her power is darkness/void. I played off of the description where her appearance is that of a beautiful woman with a few alien features, mine being wasp themed. I plan on giving her huge blades that mock stingers and a swarm of black wasps behind her. In mythology, wasps were believed to connect the real world to the underworld, and that they are the Devils failed attempt at creating a better bee than God, so I believed the theme was appropriate.Any input is appreciated. Wow this kicks ass. I really like how in your second picture you drew in the honey comb in the background. Looks really evil. Cant wait to see the final.

I like the dynamism of the first two although she looks a bit pretty for a demon. I reckon wasp demon women have big faceted eyes. And remember your final concepts need to be b&w or sepia / single colour.

Thanks! Yeah I'm working on my grayscale concepts now, the first two drawings were just to get comfortable with my character. Thanks for the input!

never knew that part of the mythology about wasps. a devils failed attempt at creating better bees than God. wow! I liked the idea of huge swarm of black wasps behind her creating darkness as she approaches, reminds me of the 300 movie where the persian arrows cover the sun.. then we shall fight in the shade :D

Yes, I tried to make the image meaningful :D I really enjoy mythology.

Hopefully I can create the swarm of bees to be more threatening than a cloud of arrows :buttrock:!

This blue-violet-dark look rocks.
And I hope, you will stuck to a pose somehow like your first sketches. I like the acrobatic touch of it. Deadly elegance ;)
