How can I rotate something past 180 degrees? It's really frustrating.

When you say "something" what are you referring to? Rotations can sometimes be complex in 3D so we need more information to understand what may be happening.

The simplest thing in the world. I need to rotate an Earth 360 degrees along the y axis.

(If there's a way to tilt the earth and have it rotate on it's own axis that would be even better)

It's just that when I rotate something over 180 degrees, it wants to rotate in the negative direction. Also, when I insert a key frame at zero rotation, then rotate and type in 360 and key frame that, nothing happens. It's like blender wants to take the shortest path to a rotation. I like how with Lightwave you can rotate as much as you want, and it will always work corectly.

You can edit the curve in the IPO window to correct it. As for local axis, I'm not sure... I'm learning Blender, not tried much animation yet.

Might be better to only have one axis of rotation on the object and then parent it to another object or null for animating the the tilt.
