I've pulled a SmoothPreview mel script off Highend3d.com and if you've had a play with it you'll know how it basically creates a smoothed polygon model of your polygon proxy shape allowing you to edit the points and see the result on a smoothed version - very very handy.

I'm now at a stage where I need to do something similar with a character. So pay attention - first one to reply helpfully with this wins a 4x4pixel texture in YOUR CHOICE OF FORMAT!! cant say fairer than that!! :hmm:

I have a characters head I've created and a stack of blendshapes for it. I want to be able to do the same thing to my heads - ie: If I grab a vertex on the first head, I want maya to grab the same vertex on the other heads. Now When I move that vertex on my default head, the others all follow suit with respect to their local axis effectively editing 24 blendshapes simultaneously!

I'm not very good with mel here, so if anyone knows a script or could help me write the mel commands out that would be great. I mentioned the SmoothPreview command earlier because that looks like it works on a similar level but that, If I remember correctly uses the connection editor and its that I want to use I think.

anyway, answers on a postcard, etc. and remember the first one to come up with something useful will get that much sort after 4x4 pixel texture!

cheers

Select just the shape nodes of each object:

In the connection Ed. connect 'Out Mesh' of controlling shape to 'In Mesh' of the controlled ones.
('Smooth Preview' is also in the shape node, should you need it...)
