hi acb12!

It's only a random girl, i'm not using any real referece... maybe i shouldn't use "portrait" in the description then? sorry, my english is so poor, in that case i'll change it

bye and thank you for commenting ^^

hmm well if you have some trouble with hair i think you should take a refrence pic just to make your life easier :D

i didnt drew alot of women so far so i dont know alot cocerning the overall look although it seems fine exept a slight right side of the lip thingy that it looks like her lip at the right side is rly pointing out of her face .
and concerning the hair it seems to me that her front grp of hairs start from the same place /starts from a very wiered place which is abit higher then her head and it makes it look like she has a weird hair :D

hope it helps and its looking great so far keep going ^_^

Nice detail on the face, here, but unfortunately it is completely at odds with the background, and until you put in the hair, it will not be a complete character. I often hit this snag when painting portraits - background is not what I'm interested in, so I rush ahead and leave it as an afterthought. Bad idea. Put in a background that sits well with the palette of the skin tones you have chosen, and whose lighting and reflection sits well with the face.

As for painting hair, I have never come acrss a better tutorial or technique than this one: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?threadid=259468

Just wish she did one for black hair too... :/

First of all thank you for commenting

I'm not really sure about what colour should i use for the background, i always have the same problem, but i will try to fix it

And about the tutorial, i haver already seen it, but i'm not good enough to al least reach that level of realism xD

Even though thank you very much for the advice and the tutorial ^^

wow! Thats a really cool start. I like the blue eyed version better though I'm afraid. Amazing details on the face.
