View Full Version : Bodypaint PSD lost
prayas 07-08-2003, 02:42 PM Hi there helper guys.
Texturing a character right now and have a big problem now.
Made a color map in C4d bodypaint. Painted a bit and then took this one over to PS to make some blur and other changes because i'm more familiar with PS tools for now.(More Experience in photoshop.
I Made the changes and tried to save and got an error. Something like "can't make this action cause of an programm error". Tried to load again and was unabled to find the file.
Anyone ever seen this?
Will make the map again now. GRRRRR

I have gotten a file format error before when trying to save layers in tif format.
I use PS in conjunction with BP 3D as well,I just save a copy often just in case in PSD format as I also have been caught out after ripping a mesh for quite some time :)
Are you using BP 3D 6.3?,I found after installing the update that I could save ayered tifs again if thats any help :)

Thanks for the tip Stu.
I copied the files and now it worked fine.!
Maybe my Photoshop was the one who destroyed the file.

pardon my ignorance, but why not use tiff? supported perfectly by both apps, supports layers, also supported by everyother 2D and 3D app out there

don't know why kai! Just used psd. Maybe because i use no other 2d app. Nearly never. Tried painter but that was some time ago!
Anything better with tiff? I think the same thing could have happened when using a tiff cause i believe Photoshop is the one to blame in this case.

No problem Prayas
Kai I always use tif in PS and everywhere else, but I have used tif in BP3D from time to time and it hasnt exported in layers it has flattened the file, even though the file was layered,so thats why I use PSD in BP3D just so there are no surprises in PS afterwards.

Ive had this with photoshop7 and it pee's me right off. for no reason it will suddenly decide not to save anything. In this case, copy and paste whatever you can into another app.
