hey!!:wavey:
i think it's as eay as just putting them in the right folder.
the shaders folder i think in the install directory where you puy maya. then just create a new tab in the hypershade and point it to there.

hope that helps, but i have never actually done it myself.
just one of the things you pick up from browsing the boards.

cheers!!

heres what I have and it works great:

Basically you have the area maya is installed:

in my case:

C://AW/ShadersLibrary/shaders

in there I add subfolders for various things:

miscshaders

in this subfolder I have all my shading networks most of which end in .ma

I also have another little folder in there called .mayaswatches
I rendered off a little pic of the texture applied to a ball. saved it, and renamed the file changing the extension into .ma.swatch

I then dropped this image into to .mayaswatches folder.

NB: the image HAS to have the same filename as the shader and it is CASE SENSITIVE too so get them right and you should be laughing!
:wavey:

also if you create a subfolder for textures in the same place as MISCSHADERS (in my case) you should see little swatches in your hypershade menu without having to create the little swatches yourself. Maya sees the images and automatically creates a little viewing swatch for you! HOOT!
