I've been trying to create a naturalistic light fog decay, but no matter what I adjust I can't get it to work. Can anyone give me any suggestions.

I'm using mental ray in maya with final gather. I'm using a spotlight. I've adjusted the fog spread, decay, density, and drop off, but none of that gives me a natural decay.

is your spotlight scaled enough to cover the entire room?

I agree, it looks like your light fog is cutting off very suddenly. Try scaling your light until the fog object fills the entire width of the room.
