Yes, it looks really cool. The forest in particular has a nice magic vibe to it, I think.

One thing. Where is the audio?

I'd like to see it, but your site is down. Maybe put it on youtube or vimeo?

Hello everyone. Thank you for your kind comments.

The 720p version seems to be missing sound. I will try to fix that asap.

ivanisavich: Are they still not working? It's working fine for me. Maybe I'll put it on vimeo.

Wow! Very cool.

Everything came together nicely. The sound effects and roar add a lot to the scene.

Any chance on getting more "making of" type of information?

One tiny crit: Looks more like an albertosaurus than a T. rex, to me. (I know, VERY nitpicky)

Great job!!

Hello Olle and Tomas, you did a really great job here .

A version on vimeo would be cool.

Hey olle, turned out great! I love the animation and the lighting.. you guys really nailed that down well! Goes to show how important the little details are! I agree with the comment below, the head does look a little oblong for a trex... but thats a small complaint for what is a great piece.

Put it on Vimeo - you'll get more hits.

P.S. How did you manage to keep the camera so still? Did you stabilize it afterwards in post?

bobzilla: Thank you very much! A making of is actually in the making sort of. We are presenting our work to some companys soon. Maybe we should film the event.
About the dinosaur. It's actually not a trex. More like a Gorgosaurus with some personal touches.

djart73: Glad you liked it! I will put up a vimeo as soon as i get the chance :)

vfx: Nice to hear you liked it. We tried our best :) The footage was shot with a steady cam, but not by us.

joel3d: Really nice to hear that from you! Your work is really cool as well.

borrequito: Still not a trex. But thank you. Tomas did a great job on the animation :)

MeLtingBrAinZ: The muscle system is from maya 2009. Worked like a charm.

I keep watching this hoping it gets longer!

The more I watch it the more I think you guys really paid a lot of attention to detail and realism as far as how an animal would react, move, and behave in that situation.

The footsteps are a good volume. Not too thunderous. The roar is pretty original (sounds a little like Peter Jackson's Kong). The echo through the forest...

All, really good stuff!

Need more...

Wow this is great work.
Amazing tracking and awesome integration into the real footage. Also the animation was really good. Thumbs up. Your Dinosaur is far better then the ones you see at documentarys all the time. 5* from me!

You're right, dinosaurs are so cool, and yours is as cool as every one in a hollywood film, so CONGRATULATIONS.
The only thing i dont like so much (but it's still so well done) it's the design of the head of the Dino, a bit strange and less interesting than the rest of the shot, but a supreme work.

Hello Olle.

The animation is superb. Can you describe how did you make the environment? It looks so great and i wont even start to talk about the dino :)

this is amazing.

Is there a chance we can see more on the texturing side of things? the Layout of the UV's, the different texture maps u used (color, bump, displacement)...?? Hope is not asking for too much.

Fantastic piece, loved it!

Nintendians: Thank you. Great to hear!

mayazeus: thanks! :) Your animations are really cool as well. I like the babys fighting :)

Silverwing: Thank you. Thats nice to hear. Your rendering skills is really good.

BalieriStudio: Thanks! Yeah i would probably come up with another design if i could do it again. Maybe next time :)

Gotmilk: Thank you. Tomas is an awsome animator. The enviroment is real footage. I thought that was obvious. I wish the enviroment was 3d aswell, then I would retire and be satisfied with my life :)

bobzilla: Really glad you like it. I will upload a powerpoint soon with some nice stuff in it.

KayPoprawe: Thank you!

RVG: Thank you. I will upload a powerpoint soon with my uv layout included. I really like your monkey animation btw :)

Cool, I loved it ;) The head of the model itself has kind of an interesting look to it, which I'm not too sure about yet wheter I like it or not. But it has been very well integrated. This forest definitely looks primeval to me, do you have such cool forests in Sweden? Looks like a great location to me! Anyway keep it up!

Greetings,
Jonas

Very nice, really impressive!

some critism though, and I hope you'll find it constructive, here goes;the fact that the leaves doesn't move at all to the rumbling sounds of the dino's footsteps makes it all a bit less realistic, a little movement or even some dust near the feet? A very subtle camera shake maybe?

Also when the dino roars, it looks very static around the neck area. Some skin movements would make it all more believable.

but as I said, great work, great matchmoving and compositing.

Bra jobbat! 5stars

/Sean

Well, this dino probably weighed less than a full grown African elephant, and they don't make the ground rumble when they walk. Although the dino is running (as opposed to walking) I doubt the ground would shake.

I think that has become a myth perpetrated by the Jurassic Park movie!

But, some dust might be a nice addition.
