View Full Version : turning on and off locking of rotation axis?
zwicker122 03-20-2009, 01:23 PM I'm currently trying to figure out a way that i can lock and unlock a rotation axis of a joint with a added boolean attribute to a control curve. So when the attribute is on the y rotation is able to rotate, but when it is off it is locked so it can't rotate. I can't seem to find a node that i can set a driven key too for locking the rotation. Is there any ideas to what or how i can go about turning it on and off from one source. Thanks for your time.

Why exactly are you needing to do this? Can you give a bigger picture of what you're ultimately trying to do? There may be another way of going about it. Are you just wanting to keep the user from changing it, or not allow it to rotate at all?
If you key a joint, then you can lock and unlock the Attr without affecting the animation. (Maya). So, you could just setup the boolean to trigger a script when it changes that will lock/unlock that attr.
