Hi, this is probably a pretty basic question about Maya, but i'm having trouble resolving it. Im using Maya 2008 sp2 on a mac.
The problem now is that whenever I move the top joint, the IK handle stays in the same spot when it should follow with the top joint. I don't think this has always done this. I've opened up other scene and they do the same thing. Is this normal or is a setting wrong? I know I can hide the IK handle, but I want to get it setup correctly and I beleive I've had it working properly before. Attached is a screenshot of whats happening.
Here is a basic example of what I've done:
1. Create 4 joints using the joint tool
2. I have created a spline IK using the IK spline handle tool under skeleton menu and created it going from the base joint to the end joint.
3. I've created two separate joints that would be then parented to animation controls, one joint at the top and another joint at the bottom. (joint5 and joint6)
4. I skin the joint created in step 3 using smooth bind to the curve created with the ik spline handle tool.
