Hi guy,

Well i'm using the new passes system in maya, everything (almost) work as expect but the shadow pass which is giving a strange result.
the pass I get is actually a black image with the shadow being shown as the actual color of the object they are projected onto? I'm expected a black and white image with shadow white and the rest black. can someone explain if I'm doing something wrong. nothing fancy in my setup just shadow pass on in the passes tabs output to Exr 32 bit for each passes.

thanks for any help this is bugging me.

cheers

Sounds like it is intended to be subtracted from the render.

yes I see, that's true, it could be composed like that and then add as a pass over the way you want.
i guess i'll do that, but that's quite weird in my opinion, or I was expected something else.

thanks for the input.

cheers

Well shadow passes are odd however you look at them, adding shadow or taking away light.
